“Look carefully then how you walk, not as unwise but as wise, making the best use of the time because the days are evil. Therefore do not be foolish, but understand what the will of the Lord is” (Eph. 5:15-17).
To all who are reading this, you have awakened to another day in this crazy world. The question we must ask ourselves is, will we walk in wisdom or not? Will we allow the world to guide us or God’s wisdom?
Another question is, will we make the best use of our time and seek to understand God’s will instead of all the foolish babble bombarding us daily?
The days we are in are evil. This fact we can clearly see. This evil is all around us and it seeks to consume or devour us (1 Peter 5:8-9). The world celebrates all sorts of evil actions daily. They reject the good for the bad and then say the evil and bad are good. Evil is very real and very present.
If we are to walk in wisdom, we will not let evil rule us. We will seek to take Jesus Christ and the gospel of the grace of God to all the people we meet. I remember hearing Nabeel Qureshi, a Christian apologist who converted from Islam, say that not sharing Christ with another is because we do not love them. How sad a thought that is. Holding back the best piece of wisdom because we don’t love enough and are afraid. We have a fear that we will offend or be made fun of. There is no reason for this because we have the wisdom of God inside us (John 14:26). We walk in wisdom because we have the Spirit of wisdom, the Spirit not of fear but love in us (2 Tim. 1:7).
We must use our time wisely and seek to honor God by doing his will. This simply that God wills for all men to be saved (1 Tim 2:4), be sanctified (1 Thess. 4:3), be Spirit-filled (Eph. 5:18), we be submissive to one another and authorities (Rom. 13: 1-7; Eph. 5:21; 1 Pet. 2:13-25), and that we be wise, and use our time wisely (Eph. 5:15-16). Moving forward and speaking the truth to all people is performing God’s will. We do this in love and with respect. We live a life of sanctity and compassion but also of truth and purity. Be wise in your life. Avoid dangers if moral failure. But do not be afraid to share Christ with all people.
Let us daily go into this world with this mindset. I believe if all of us who are Christians will live like this, things can change. We can see people come to believe in Jesus for eternal life. We can see salvation and changed lives. People not following the wicked and evil ways of the world. If we want to see change, this is how to do it.
God bless you all and let us go forth and glorify our amazing Savior and God by being faithful servants filled with the power of the Holy Spirit. Let us go and deliver this amazing message of salvation through Jesus Christ alone. Let us use our time wisely as men and women of character who are not foolish and seeking to do God’s will.
